To have long term joy from your piece of jewelry
Gold jewellery especially looks attractive on suntanned skin. But the much loved and often worn jewelry loses its shimmer with time. The gold chain is misty, color stones and diamonds seem mat and the pearl necklace thread lost its firmness. It is time for some knowldgeable jewelry care.
Gold jewelry without gems
Put your jewelry in mild soapwater from time to time and brush it with a soft toothbrush. Afterwards dry it with a soft cloth. This way it will always look neat. Although even gold has a weak point: if it gets in touch with chlorine or chlorinated cleaning supplies, it can lose its color.
Silver jewelry sometimes can get misty by just being stored. To prevent this from happening store it in a small, tight-fitting plastic bag with a piece of aluminum foil. Even the sensitive silver jewelry can keep its shimmer this way.
Diamonds are uncomplicated because of their hardness when it comes to care. You can maintaine these just like your gold jewelry (see above). You should especially focus on cleaning between the facets with a toothbrush.
Opals need special care. Don't use any cleaning supplies or soaps and especially avoid dry heat. The opal contains water which can dry out easily which concludes in losing its shimmer. To maintaine the opals shine hold it from time to time under water.
